Meet Our Staff.
Katherine, owner of Excel Speech Therapy Center for over 17 years, is originally from Turlock, CA. Katherine was one of six children and spent her early years taking care of younger siblings and babysitting for families throughout her teenage years. She was an instructional assistant for children with special needs during her college years and enjoyed working with children. She received her Masters degree at California State University Fresno and completed an internship in the skilled nursing facilities. Katherine thoroughly enjoyed interacting with the patients and staff in the SNFs. She eventually moved to Los Angels becoming a traveling speech therapist in the schools, then moved back home shortly thereafter, working for a private pediatric practice in Modesto for several years. She then decided to move to San Diego to open up a private practice, working as a traveling speech therapist for the San Diego schools and working evenings and weekends as a home health contractor and in skilled nursing facilities while building Excel’s caseload, eventually working full time at Excel Speech. She hired her first two employee shortly thereafter. Excel Speech now has clinics in San Diego, Chula Vista and San Marcos. Katherine enjoys collaborating with Excel staff and continues to strive to streamline the business to provide excellent speech therapy services to Excel’s families at our family oriented clinics.
